E-cigarettes are one of the best and the most effective way to quit tobacco smoking. They are not only structured to fix the nicotine cravings of smokers, but they are made to replicate the excitement of puffing without the harmful chemicals.
So how do e-cigarettes work? They are made from three different components: a heating element, the tank, a battery, and an e-liquid. When the battery is fired, the atomizer or heating element heats the liquid and makes it into an amazing tasting vapor.
To be able to enjoy the overall vaping experience and to understand each part of the device’s role, here are the main e-cigarette components:
Tank– The tank or the clearomiser is usually made out of glass, a chimney or center tube, drip tip and coil, and it is the component that holds up the liquid. Basically, the e-cigarette battery gives power to the coil in the tank, and it turns the liquid into vapor.
Battery – The e-cigarette battery supplies power to the heating element or the atomizer. E-cigarettes that are made for beginners and intermediate smokers have a lot of built-in batteries, while advanced vape mods have a battery body and they have high-drain ones.
Drip tip – This is a mouthpiece that is used for inhaling smoke from the tank or clearomiser. Depending on the vape outcome or the style of vape that you want, you can choose between a narrow drip, which is better for mouth to lung vaping and a wide bore drip that is found in sub-ohm tanks which is better for direct lung vaping.
Coil– This is the resistance that gets heated when the battery is fired to create the vapor when heating the liquid. It is also the part of the e-cig that gets replaced often because the wicks inside the coil get burnt every time you vape, so it needs to be changed. If you want to use your e-cig longer, you need to have extra replacement coils that will go with your vaping kit or e-cig. Coils have a lifespan of two days, but sometimes it can last up to two weeks, depending on how frequent you vape, your style, and your setup.
E-liquid – The liquid is the flavor that goes into the e-cig tank, and they are turned into the smoke that is inhaled. It is not a part of the kit or e-cigarettes that are found on websites because they are sold separately. There are different flavors, VG/PG ratios, and nicotine strengths that you can choose from, there are also nicotine-free liquids.
It is highly recommended that you use your battery regularly and charge it using a wall adapter for best performance. Although no one knows exactly how long the battery charge can last and for how long, you can use your battery before it needs replacing. This is because its life depends on the surrounding temperature, your style of inhaling, your vaping frequency, and the resistance that you are using it with.
You should also replace your coil whenever it is no longer in good condition like if it has a burnt taste, there is poor vapor and leakage so that you can make the most out of your tank. You should always allow enough time for priming, and you should clean your tank frequently.
Vaping is not the same as smoking; this is the reason why you should replace the sharp and firm way of smoking with a more soft and slow inhale. No matter what kind of e-cigarette kit you are using, always let the battery fire for 1 to 2 seconds before inhaling so that the battery can have the needed time to turn the e-liquid into vapor, this can prevent leaking and spitting problems.
